Working Wheels Welcomes Susan Figel

Please join us in welcoming Susan Figel to Working Wheels!

Hi! I’m Susan Figel, the new Volunteer Coordinator and Program Participant Liaison for Working Wheels WNC. I am excited to get to know all of our volunteers and, with their help, achieve our goals. I am looking forward to assisting our program participants in their journey to a reliable vehicle. And I am eager to collaborate with our partner agencies on ways to help more working families.

Working Wheels is an organization I fully believe in. Reliable transportation is the fundamental key to greater opportunities and an overall improved future. As a past program participant myself, I understand the peace of mind a reliable vehicle can bring, as well as the stress and uncertainty that goes along with not having one.

I am originally from Pittsburgh,PA, and I am proud of my blue-collar steelworker roots. What I love about Asheville and WNC is I feel a mix of those values and an appreciation of community-focused activism and social responsibility.

I enjoy all things history, thrifting & yard sales, a good book, the beach, hanging out with my dog, and coffee. I’m looking forward to meeting you, and I know that together we will accomplish great things for the working families of WNC!

This car means that I can get to work safely and on time. I have a good job and with reliable transportation, I can advance. Now, I can also go see my family!
